And the NOAA, you may recall, noted that the season could also be the same or milder. And Mann doesn't come anywhere close to predicting something about the 2006 season. He simply makes the claim that rising sea surface temperatures are associated with more and bigger hurricanes -- while noting various competing factors that tend to reduce the number and strength of hurricanes.
