Can we ever expect to be a member of an organization made up of world governments and not find a fair share of both friends and enemies? Of course not, it is the nature of the beast. When nations of the world sit down together, you will hear discord and disagreement.

Do you think all nations like other big countries, like Russia and China? Of course not.

So why do we bother having the UN at all? Because many times it does open doors to solve problems that could not otherwise be solved. Because it is a place for the all nations to express their views verbally - and many times war can be averted. But most of all, we should support the UN because it is the only hope we have of ever finding a path to a better tomorrow.

If the US got out of the UN, it would die just like the League of Nations. The UN is the only organization where we (meaning the whole world), can perhaps build on what we have so that disagreements someday are settled based on the rule of law not by who has the biggest military or the most bombs. This chance will not likely come along again for a long time. Let's not throw away the only organization we have were there is at least hope mankind can create a better future.
