However, being bisexual doesn't mean a simple attraction - that's what is called bi curious. It's only once a woman has been intimate with another woman that she is bisexual.
Southpark had an episode about that once. I echo thier feelings on the subject, heh heh

Bascially, they make a big joke out of the whole "Bi curious" thing...that it is a euphemsim that bisexuals and homosexuals use to describe themselves when they are afraid of the bisexual or homosexual label.

If you are sexually attracted to both sexes, you are bisexual. If I never actually had sex with anyone in my entire life, I would still be homosexual. The act is not what makes you gay/bi/straight. The feelings are what make you gay/bi/straight.

But I do remember seeing a study that suggested males were more hard-wired to be gay or straight while females are more conditioned and flexible.

Gay people are not afraid of being labelled. If someone is attracted to both sexes, then has sex with someone of the same sex, doesn't like and reverts back to the opposite sex, is that person straight or bisexual? They are heterosexual. One experience does not change a persons sexual orientation.

Something had to have attracted that person to the same sex in the first place. The fact that they didnt like one experience means nothing...how do you know that the person simply wasnt gross or something?

Feelings make you gay or straight, not actions. In your example, they are probably in denial or not being honest with themselves IMO (I have met lots of straight liberals who wanted to be gay/bi, but were really straight, because it gets them attention...sometimes a stigma has attractions of its own).

I agree. Because the actual experience has nothing to do with what you're attracted to. It is the result, not the cause.

I think that women are more flexible sexually than men are. If straight is a 10 and gay is a 1, most men would put themselves at either 1 or 10, and I think most women would put themselves in a range (i.e. 8-9).

I like what women look like naked, but the idea of being face to face with a va jay jay isn't appealing.

Wouldn't that make you 100% heterosexual though? Finding someone/something aesthetically pleasing is not the same as wanting to have sex with him/her/it... and it sounds as though you'd be sickened by the actual sex part.

I'd imagine also that sexual desire can exist without aesthetics... at least to an extent. After all a lot of women I've known say (and I cannot disagree, but I'm biased) that a man's junk is the ugliest thing in the known universe... and yet still have sex with men.

With few exceptions the gay men I know can appreciate that certain women are physically attractive just not to them.

I however find nothing whatsoever attractive about a man's body.

That said one of my best gay friends who has been in a relationship with the same guy for decades confided to me that, at first, he couldn't see anything attractive about his partner. In fact he thought he was "yucky" but after several months their friendship turned to love "overnight" and now he thinks he's the most beautiful man alive.

Attraction's a complex thing for sure.

It depends on how you define sex. I would be okay with just boobies. So, am I straight or bi?
