If he/she runs on the basis of his/her skin color (ie..Vote for me, I'm Black), Americans will not vote for them.

Someone who sells themself as the advocate of the common interests can win regardless of color. Someone who sells themself as the advocate of the special interests of any one group will not win. It not really a very hard concept.
