I too grew up poor and my dad would never let us take hand-outs. At one point the man had 3 jobs plus he ran a detassling crew in the summer. He forced me to save 10% of everything we made as children and if I had followed that my whole life I could retire now.

He is the President of a capitalistic society.

My question to you is... if you were layed off today how long could you survive without government assistance? I will tell you that I have been saving since my first job, if I were to lose my job and the chance of that is great in my field, I could live for 1 year without help. I am at that point not because I am rich, but because I have planned.
changing the subject again, to get away from the fact that your team has screwed the economic pooch

if i were laid off today it would be a surprise, since i have been retired since i turned 50. sure i make money consulting if a former client needs help, and i officiate a variety of sports, for which i receive decent compensation but it is the way i stay in good physical and emotional shape ... i don't depend on those incomes. no debt other than the annual property taxes on my still appreciating real estate (buy location - always). sending two children thru college and still have not touched my savings. so, yes, i too, have planned financially but my objections to the mismanagement of our economy are not about how they affect me as i am in fine shape. however, no American should ignore our country's problems, especially now that it is being date raped by dicknbush and their saudi cronies

So offer to give away some of your riches to the idiots who have not planned properly. Was it Clintons fault when the dotcoms went bust?

Got any proof to back this up? Perhaps the real reason for all the repo's is the fact that so many losers were stretching their credit limits out for so long, that suddenly everything "snapped." Banks took advantage of low fed rates, and stupid people who can't manage their money took advantage of the banks.

I don't consider this an issue of the economy going sour, as much as it's an issue of "what comes around, goes around."

Again...you can't have "winners" without "losers." Let the losers lose.
