Default Watts is a good example

As there aren't too many districts in the country where the majority is strongly white, but the rep is a minority. He wasn't ready to be Pres, but with experience I do think he had the potential.

There are issues on both sides. You want to talk about a lack of interest in white families adopting black kids. The flip side of that coin is that when white families do do that they are criticized by some blacks. Sharpton being one example. While things have improved we are not there yet. But it will take improvement by both sides, while Cosby is onto something with his comments it will take a lot more by those of similar stature as well as change in the mentality of some whites (I think mostly by the progression of time) before things really improve.

I think the answer is the US is ready for the right minority President. Right being someone who embraces both conservative and liberal ideals.
