Well, I found it significant how Fatah won student elections at Hebron University over a usual dominated Hamas school body.

I'm not certain why it is Bush gets all the credit. It's the Israeli and alestinian leaders that have been doing most of the work.
And to be fair, Hamas has been doing most of the work... by failing miserably.

It's a no-brainer. Most of the people are going to favor stability and a better life for themselves. So they will back the party they think will give it to them... A few years ago people thought that would be Hamas... but as predicted, Hamas was full of BS.

Of course this is overall a good thing. But does anyone think that Israeli settlers are going to stop spreading into territories the Palestinians claim? Do you think that the terrorists in the area are going to stop bombing civilians.

This is a step toward the right direction, but the troubles are far from over... and while we think we are the make-or-breakers of this whole thing... the credit really belongs to the people in the region.

Here is another reason why I say that Palestine is changing and that we must support Fatah and the current government instilled in the West Bank and never hold negotiations with Hamas:

Compare the West Bank vs. Gaza Youth Reaction to the 60th Anniversary of Israel:

West Bank:

1.

Palestinian children blow up black balloons to mark Israel's 60th anniversary, which Palestinians call the 'nakba,' or catastrophe, the word they use to describe Israel's establishment which resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the refugee camp of Aida near the West Bank town of Bethlehem, Thursday May 15, 2008.

2.

West Bank cont'd:

1.

A Palestinian youth wears a shirt with the numbers '1948' on the back as he waits outside the gates of the Israeli army's Kalandia checkpoint, between the West Bank city of Ramallah and Jerusalem, Thursday, May 15, 2008. Palestinians marked the 60th anniversary of their uprooting with rallies, sirens and black balloons Thursday, an annual ritual that turned even darker this year because of crippling internal divisions, diminishing independence hopes and the stark contrast to Israel's all-out birthday bash.

2.

A Palestinian child plays amongst black balloons during a rally marking Israel's 60th anniversary, which Palestinians call the 'nakba,' or catastrophe, the word they use to describe Israel's establishment which resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, in the refugee camp of Aida near the West Bank town of Bethlehem, Thursday May 15, 2008.

3.

Palestinians rally in the West Bank city of Ramallah to mark the 59th anniversary of the Naqba or "catastrophe" in 2007. This year, Palestinians protested across the occupied territories on the 60th anniversary of the "catastrophe" of the birth of Israel as the Jewish state's army went on high alert.

Gaza:

1.

A Palestinian youth yawns as he holds a wooden gun during a demonstration organized by Islamic Jihad marking what Arabs call the 'nakba,' or catastrophe, the word they use to describe Israel's establishment which resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, in Gaza City, Thursday, May 15, 2008. Palestinians marked the 60th anniversary of their uprooting with rallies, sirens and black balloons Thursday — an annual ritual that turned even darker this year because of crippling internal divisions, diminishing independence hopes and the stark contrast to Israel's all-out birthday bash.

guns obviously
just like our forefathers when they were oppressed by an occupying army, break out the guns and establish a tradition of keeping the country rid of tyrants
it won't be long before the Palestinians do the same
