But why? As far as I understand, slavery was perfectly legal before that time. Why should anyone pay reparations for acting according to the law?
What would you say if for example the ecologists took power in the US in about twenty years or so and would demand that every owner of a car and/or a driving license today should pay reparations for »destruction of the environment« then?
