Seems that Jim Webb, Junior Senator from Virginia has come up with a novel idea that nobody in the administration had ever thought of. This radical new idea is that our troops need more support than can be delivered from yellow ribbon magnets and flag lapel pins. Really? Ya' think?

We should support the troops by educating the public. Ribbons, magnets, and pins don’t do that.

The liberals are destroying this country by spreading misinformation and promoting intellectual laziness all for political expediency.

Edit: I actually read the article now.. Seems he (and others) want the government to pay for higher education for returning troops after their tour is over. I agree with this. Normally I have a knee jerk reaction that says "NO!!!" to all new government spending and all expanded government spending however we owe this to our troops and it is an investment that will pay dividends for this country generations to come.

I will agree that there needs to be a better education system set up. The WWII type GI bill returned $4 in taxes and revenue for every dollar spent getting them through college.

This doesn't help. It really doesn't. Please please, we all have to stop with the labels. It only serves to dillude these debates into mindless berating. No one person is 100% liberal or 100% conservative, so the label is not only destructive to honest and intelligent discussion, it's false.
