Default Abortion

The fact is that if someone wants to do something, whether it is against the law or not, they will do it. Laws are not physical barriers. I know many people, pretty much all of my friends, that have smoked marijuana before. But wait! That's against the law! Indeed, and they are still doing it. If a woman wants to have an abortion, she will have that abortion. It will be done unsafely, and she will either have her boyfriend do it, a "doctor" in a back alley, or herself. The instruments? A dirty coathanger, a wooden baseball bat, or the stairs. This can obviously cause injury to the woman, possibly even death. So, first off, for the good of the mother, I really believe that abortion must be legal.

When does a baby become a baby and not just a bunch of cells? I don't think that matters. I am sorry, but I truly don't. We will never know. Conservatives will say it is at conception. Liberals will say it is at birth. We will never know, and so it is always going to be a clash of opinions. We will never get anything done if we sit here and bicker about the issue of when a fetus becomes a baby. You just will never make someone agree with you- it is an opinion.

Plus, America is the home of the free. Equality, and justice, for all! Right? Right. So if we were to ban abortions, then only one side gets what they want. Only one side's view is seen. The whole other side is forced to live like the opposition. Yet, if abortion is kept legal, both sides will make the choice, and both sides will be content on which choice they make. No one is forcing anyone to do anything. That is justice. That is equality.
