Are we suggesting that Obama is a socialist, or are we just speaking in terms of who hate Obama enough to pay $5 a gallon. However, either way I would choose Obama over $5 a gallon. The oil companies are beating America out of evil stinky dime, they must be regulated.

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #16: Lower Gasoline Prices

Promise: “Democrats have a plan to lower gas prices…join Democrats who are working to lower gas prices now.”

– Then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Press Release, April 19, 2006

Broken Promise: “The average price of gasoline hit $3.218 a gallon Monday, up a stunning 11.5 cents the past week and just half a penny shy of the inflation-adjusted record, the government reported. The average is almost certain this week to pass the inflation-adjusted high of $3.223, recorded in May 1981 by the Energy Information Administration.”

– “Average Gasoline Price Nears 1981 Average,” USA Today, May 22, 2007.

Democrats have been in power for six months, and gas prices have gone up, not down.

I believe it's up to a year and a half now, how long should we wait? Gasoline is at a national average of $3.96 a gallon and $4.24 in California, as of 6/2/08.

So tell me what Obama will do to bring down the price that the Democrat controlled congress couldn't. A year and a half later they still have come up with their "common sense" plan to lower gas prices as promised in 2006, even though Pelosi said in Jan '07 they already had one. Tell me why we should trust them NOW!

Blunt: $1.20 Later, Where's the Democratic Plan?
Wed Apr 23, 2008 3:06pm EDT

WASHINGTON, April 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- House Republican leaders will introduce a resolution today calling for Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) to unveil the "commonsense plan" to lower gas prices she promised almost two years ago, House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) said.

Democrats have a slim majority in the Congress, but not enough to be filibuster proof. Anything the Democrats have tried to pass has been blocked by the "roadblock Republicans".

Don't blame the Democrats for not doing anything, because they can't.

Yup. Right on cue. SBB drags "race," kicking and screaming, into another thread. "Vote for Obama, or you're a racist."

I'd much rather pay the $5.00. The U.S. already pays the least for gasoline, so they're just catching up with the rest of the world. Obama, on the other hand, will leave a path of destruction if he wins the election, through his socialist policies. By punishing the rich, he will have bitten off the hand that feeds America. It will take decades to repair the damage he will do.

Hopefully gas prices go to $10 per gallon......then maybe all the SUV and BIG vehicles go away....people start commuting ....living closer to their work.....start riding bikes....motorcycles.....mopeds.....drive economical cars........traffic decreases......alternate fuel development........the list of positives....far outweigh the negatives.
