Nifong was an appointed DA, and had to run against a black candidate, Keith Bishop. Nifong couldn't win without a good chunk of the black vote, so he sacrificed the Lacrosse players to his political ambitions. The Duke faculty wouldn't have screamed like stuck pigs if it had been an alleged white rape victim. The whole incident had
