In many Islamic lands they have somewhat similar barbaric practices: in the Palestinian terror-itories a women (not a man, however) will sometimes get killed in an Honor Killing for talking on a cell phone, or for laughing out loud in public with a man who is not her husband.

Also, in Pakistan, arguably the most technologically advanced Muslim country ever (the only Muslim country to create nuclear weapons) they ban free speech, such as banning Robert Spencer's great book "The Truth About Mohammad, Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion".

These regimes are VERY AFRAID of one thing getting out....THE TRUTH.
