They can, but they won't. Remember alot of those superdelegates will
be running for re-election and the last thing they want is a divided party.
Mondale switched today, from Clinton to Obama. You'll see alot more of that,
especially if she continues to throw her little temper tantrums. But don't expect much movement in the other direction. It would be party suicide and
even the democrats aren't that stupid.

I think you are wrong. If we learn of a scandal on Obama that makes it certain we will lose to McCain, of course they will unload him. Do you not remember Gary Hart??

It already did happen. A few of HILLARY's delegates jumped ship and moved to the Obama camp. LOL.

When William Taft took the Republican nomination for President in 1912, which I believe was the first election year that primaries actually swayed the number of delegates a candidate could receive based on the outcome of the primary, he did it only because he managed to sway delegates to come to his side. Roosevelt actually won most of the primaries, Taft just managed to pull most of the delegates to his side... The resulting consequence was Roosevelt pulling his delegates out of the Convention and going to form a third party, the Bull Moose Progressive Party. All they really managed to do was split the Republican Party, which would've won if they would've been united, and allow Woodrow Wilson to assume the presidency.

It's funny, because Roosevelt's bid was the most successful third party campaign in U.S. History. They actually beat Taft in the electoral vote by 80 votes, and over half a million in the popular vote. Hopefully Hillary can be as brilliant as Teddy, pull her Delegates out of the convention, and form a third party to divide the Democratic party. The ideal 2008 Presidential Election.
