The Sun will exhaust its nuclear fuel and reach the IRON themonucleat fussion barrier - THEN THE SIN WILL turn into a Red Giant and enlarge so much that it will engulf the orbits of Mercury and venus maybe even the earth.

Then it will explode in ONE final act of desperation and turn into a White dwarf.

We better a find a way off this planet over the next billion years or so.

Although Global warming if left unabatted will finish most of us off way before then.
