And you say that socialists aren't the demons I make them out to be? Socialists as a whole are responsible for over 100 million deaths and the ideology is totalitarian when applied and frankly dangerous. That's not to say that he or the majority of his supporters are like this, but they aren't as far away as I'd like them to be.

It was more a general denoucmnet of stupidity, but you're right civility should reign. If we're talking about useful foresight, a proper hub for grassroots is helping Obama's campaign, withstanding whatever posts/posters are plucked from obsurity by right-wing blogs. Such opportunity does exist somewhat on McCain's- his blogs are blessedly open- just not as useful for his movement. Openess should not be a liability, and I don't think it will be.
'Socialists as a whole'? You mean a century's worth of far-flung induviduals united under loose terms are responsible for each other's actions? I'm not responsible for Stalin, Lenin and I assume you'd include Hitler aswell etc. Neither are those that ascribe to socialist ideals. I reject your assertion that it is totalitarion when applied- it has been so applied, but then it never came to fruition in a democracy(until very recently), and we've had precious little examples of it at all(Democracy, anther grand idea failed and lay dormant for millenia for contrast). Its counterpart Capitalism has crimes aplenty attached to it, but again the induviduals that support it now would by and large denounce such actions too, and I accept that.
To associate the desire for universal healthcare with totalitarian boot stamping is assinine, and nothing more than a useful political tool that has been weilded succesfully for too long, a notable casuality being the common sense of the many its been successful in bludgeoning.
I seem to have lost track of one of these threads, where did you talk about the tree of capitalism?
