If you are punishing an entire demographic of the population for the bad actions of some individuals within that group, while not holding the same standard for all demographics... particularly when you yourself are not a member of the demographic in question (and thus have no "insider" frame of reference)...
then you are treating that demographic as unequal.

The problem isn't that you want to hold fundamentalist cultists to a certain level of behavior or that you would tell their daughters information contradictory to what parents say...
It's that you are patronizing and expecting behavior changes from people who are not necessarily guilty of the breaches of conduct you see in the said fundamentalists.
