To me, the only thing in danger of being surrendered in this situation is the peoples' will to the ambitions of a nutjob. People surrender to Bush their sense of right and wrong, their knowledge of what is and isn't -- that's genuine surrender. That's being someone's @#$%^, to be somewhat crudely specific, but the definition of being someone's @#$%^ is when they can get you to agree to something that you know isn't true.

Who do you think I'm surrendering to? Iraq? I'm not in a fight with Iraq. America isn't in a fight with Iraq. Bush is in a fight with Iraq and he's the kind of guy who has no moral compunctions about dragging American soldiers into it. So now they're in a fight with Iraq. Fine. That's how the chain of command works. I get that. I don't blame the soldiers for the war. I'm just not that stupid. Nobody is.

You don't have to surrender to not fight.
