Default Why people who support Clinton should not support McCain

First, let's look at the Supreme Court of the United States.

Chief Justice: John Roberts
53 years old
Appointed by George W. Bush
Usually is very conservative

David Souter
69 years old
Appointed by George H.W. Bush
Usually very liberal

Stephen Breyer
69 years old
Appointed by Bill Clinton
Associated with liberal side

Clarence Thomas
59 years old
Appointed by George H.W. Bush
Associated with die hard conservative

Antonin Scalia
72 years old
Appointed by Ronald Reagan
Another die hard conservative

Samuel "Scalito" Alito
58 years old
Appointed by George W. Bush
Yet another die hard conservative

Ruth Bader Ginsburg
75 years old
Appointed by Bill Clinton
Very liberal

Anthony Kennedy
71 years old
Appointed by Ronald Reagan
Usually moderate/conservative

John Paul Stevens
88 years old
Appointed by Gerald Ford
Mostly liberal leaning

This leaves 5 conservatives, and 4 liberals.

The conservatives' ages are: 53, 59, 72, 58, 71

The liberals; ages are: 69, 69, 75, 88

So it is evident that the next President will have control of what the Supreme Court will become. The liberals of the court are generally older, and could realistically retire or die within the next President's time in office. Bush turned the court more conservative, so the conservative side is generally much younger. If McCain is elected, assuming he sticks to being a conservative, as he is right now (but was not a few years ago), he could make the court a die hard conservative court. Roe v. Wade could be overturned in a heart beat. People overlook this in the coming election. The next president will change the Supreme Court. With liberals as the minority now, the court could rule conservatively unanimously every ruling. Imagine.

Now I'm pretty sure Clinton does not want Roe v. Wade to be overturned. She most likely would not want a staunchly conservative Supreme Court. She would most likely want a staunchly liberal Supreme Court. Thus, Clinton supporters who are switching to McCain, you do not realize what you are doing. You are going against Clinton's will. A country with Obama as president would be nearly identical to a country with Clinton as president. A country with McCain would be almost the polar opposite.

Politics is serious business, not a game. Switching sides because of a soar loss or being bitter about losing is not okay.

Exactly.

In addition, if you know Hillary's platform...beyond women's issues...you would recognize that McCain alligns with about 3% of it! And Obama alligns with 90-95%! I understand that you were passionate for your candidate, but wasn't her candidacy also about the things she wanted to change in America? and the importance of her platform? Why betray her, and her policies becuase you are spiteful towards the nominee?

For you. That is why the thread is called "why people who supported Clinton". I knew but tried to avoid having it flooded by people like you. You have your opinions, and others have others. To each his own. Clinton supporters would most likely see it the same as you.

You assume all those who supported Clinton don't believe in the Constitution. You are wrong about that.
