Default Mayor Lou Barletta Must Be Stopped

Some of you may know that Lou Barletta, mayor of Hazleton (PA), is running for Congress against long-time incumbent Paul Kanjorski (D). Even though I am a Republican, like Barletta, I simply can not support his run for Congress. Lou Barletta, I believe, must be stopped.

Lou Barletta has achieved some national attention for his stance on Illegal Immigration. He attempted to pass the harshest and most radical immigration policies in the country...and failed. A Federal Court quickly deemed his beloved "Illegal Immigration Relief Act" as unconstitutional. Thank God.

I DO think that illegal immigration is a problem and I DO think that there needs to be some sort of overhaul in our immigration policy. That said, however, Barletta's policy, and attitude, is flawed to the core. Requiring every citizen of his city who rents an apartment report to City Hall to present three forms of government issued ID goes way beyond attempting to deal with illegal immigration and begins to impose on Civil Rights.

Additionally, Lou Barletta has been using lies and misinformation to try and drum up support for his beloved law. For example, he repeatedly claims that his city, Hazleton, is under siege from an "illegal immigrant crime wave." The Hazleton Police Department has released data showing that of all the crimes committed in Hazleton, only .25%, less than 1%, was in any way connected to illegal immigrants. Oops.

Hazleton has experienced an increase in crime, however, that has nothing to do with illegal immigration and everything to do with the fact that as one of his first acts as mayor, Lou Barletta cut the Hazleton City Police Department in HALF. Then, when the crime rate began to spike as a result, Barletta began blaming it on an "illegal immigrant crime wave."

It is candidates like Lou Barletta who give the Republican Party a bad name. Voters in America are sick of Republicans, like Mayor Barletta, who use lies and fear mongering to attempt to bully their way into office. There are many, many very intelligent, honorable, and worthy Republican politicians out there who will lead the party forward. Lou Barletta is not one of those candidates.

How does block ILLEGAL people from living in your town UNconstitutional? Illegal means they are here UNlawfully, and shouldn't be here. If they want to be LEGAL, maybe they should go back where they came from, and stand in line with the other Immigrants in this country who played by the rules.

§ 7205. Fraudulent withholding exemption certificate or failure to supply information

(a) Withholding on wages
Any individual required to supply information to his employer under section 3402 who willfully supplies false or fraudulent information, or who willfully fails to supply information thereunder which would require an increase in the tax to be withheld under section 3402, shall, in addition to any other penalty provided by law, upon conviction thereof, be fined not more than $1,000, or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.

Any combination of the laws above must be broken for Illegals to work at a job other than day laborer and then they would be evading taxes. American citizens are sitting in jail for committing the exact same crimes, is it OK to give the illegals a pass for doing the very same thing?

One of these days libtards like you will wake up. For someone like you, though, the country will be overrun and ruined by illegal aliens by then, while you sat on your hands, with you head stuck up where the sun doesn't shine.
