They seem fairly similar, I guess, in some ways at least. I'd hate to live under either one (as a black person under the supremacist South African Apartheid system, or as a lowly non-Muslim under supremacist Islamic Sharia Law.)

You can choose your religion to an extent, but skin color is permanent.
