Israel isn't the simple good guys in this though. Especially for their current moves with what even the US calls illegal settlements. And while they aren't out just trying to kill civilians they aren't particularily careful either.

I don't think the current issue is some much that Israel "deserves" nukes as it is that we in the west would be foolish to allow Iran to have them.

This statement is an example of why they cannot be reasoned with, and why the US should continue arming Israel indefinitely.

Israel is willing to accept the existence of the Palestinians, but the Palestinians will never really accept the existence of Israel. So for all of you wondering why the US always backs Israel...well, this is why. Israel is only trying to defend themselves.

I agree. They are reckless IMO (and the fact that a trigger happy neocon is saying that should give you pause). However that is most certainly NOT the same thing as deliberately targeting civilians.



Its a bit of both. If Israel had no nukes at all, we would still be justified in preventing Iran from getting them if it was in our power to do so. Non-democracies cannot be trusted with nukes IMO.

This discussion reminds me of the obsession of nukes with Golda Meir. She said something along the lines of "she could forgive the arabs for killing jews but she could not forgive the arabs for causing the jews to kill arabs" (in self defense of course)
