Highlighted in bold are the items that have absolutely NO relation to Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans. I increased the text size for items relating to Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans.

Since your so disgusted with McCain's vote, please provide us with a link as to exactly how much funding the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans, were slated to receive that they wouldn't have if the bill failed. It looks like a gigantic pork barrel to me. What do the highlighted items have to do with veterans?

"The bill is a result of close collaboration between my administration and members of both parties on Capitol Hill. … I want to thank members who worked hard for the GI Bill expansion, especially Senators Webb and Warner, Graham, Burr, McCain. This bill shows that even in an election year, Democrats and Republicans can come together to stand behind our troops."

Senator John McCain, that great "supporter of veterans" was one of only 13 senators, to vote AGAINST supporting veterans. There is another other observations about this shameful vote that is worth noting:

Every single "nay" vote against supporting veterans was cast by a Republican. Every single Democrat voted "yea".

Are Republicans proud of this vote? When the chips were down and it really counted, John McCain voted "nay". I wonder what veterans think about a candidate running for president that's willing to keep our troops locked in a needless war, but votes "nay" against benefits for veterans.

If you think this is just so much political hype, or made up, here's a link direct to the United States Senate that lists the bill, the date, the purpose of the bill, and details alphabetically who voted "aye" and who voted "nay".

You can't deny the truth, but I suppose you can continue to excuse the shameful acts.

I am no supporter of John McCain by any stretch of the imagination. But he is a veteran. I am wondering what was in that bill that he opposed. Was there an earmark that he disagreed with?

Clinton aide slams Pentagon's UFO secrecy

By Richard Stenger
CNN
Tuesday, October 22, 2002 Posted: 3:09 PM EDT (1909 GMT)

(CNN) -- One winter night in 1965, eyewitnesses saw a fireball streak over North America, bank, turn and appear to crash in western Pennsylvania. Then swarms of military personnel combed the area and a tarp-covered flatbed truck rumbled out of the woods.

Now a former White House chief of staff and an international investigative journalist want to know what the Pentagon knows, calling on it to release classified files about that and other incidents involving unidentified flying objects, or UFOs.

"It is time for the government to declassify records that are more than 25 years old and to provide scientists with data that will assist in determining the real nature of this phenomenon," ex-Clinton aide (Chief of Staff) John Podesta said Tuesday.

Podesta was one of numerous political and media heavyweights on hand in Washington, D.C., to announce a new group to gain access to secret government records about UFOs.

Say isn't this the same guy that heads that thinkprogres.org, center for American Progress? Whee doggie Uncle Jed, he's might be seein UFO's! The 60's were a little rough on this bloke...eh? He's a big X-Files Fan, maybe he thinks he's the Cigarette Smoking Man? Why does anyone quote crap from his website anyway?

He voted against a huge barrel of Democrat pork, not the Vets.

It's a video of George W. Bush. The source doesn't matter.

It's still George W. Bush on the video. It's still George W. Bush saying the words. It's still George W. Bush trying to take claim for the bill he opposed. It's still George W. Bush praising John McCain for his support, when John McCain actually voted against it.

You might not like the source, but it's just a video of George W. Bush making a fool of himself and John McCain. There are lots of other sources that show that.

Taken out of context, as they usually do. McCain's support was a no vote to avoid billions of wasteful spending on tons of thing BUT NOT doing much for the Vets. Just a Democrat smoke and mirrors, let's not and say we did bill titled deceptively.

The statement of purpose of the bill is deceptive:

Quote:
To provide an additional $430,000,000 for the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans.
Yet as you dig into the text of the amendment as I posted above, very little appears to be going to the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans. Why would spending $430 Billion dollars a lot of thing BUT the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans, be a help to veterans?
