It hasn't been an easy balancing act for Pelosi -- how to appease your liberal base while trying to keep your new moderate converts?
|
So they've been "doing neither", right?
Typical...

Yeah - code Pink is protesting the Dems too now, and the "moderates" are gonna hit the roof when they hear that Hillary's "tax plan" comes in at 52%.
I have a feeling that Pelosi is trying very hard to get the Dems to focus on Bushie, and who knows, maybe some good can come out of all that (I mean, if our nation doesn't have to go through that "again", that would probably be a "good" thing)...
But yeah, the way the rules are set up, the Reps get their power protected till they drop below 40 Senators, and it doesn't look like that's gonna happen, so....
You know, the tragic thing, is that
Bush is what's standing in the way of a better bi-partisan consensus. It's only the die-hard Bush loyalists that are also the Party faithful - anyone who doesn't like Bush is probably mad at the Party too, the Reps 'cause they let the guy get in there in the first place, and the Dems 'cause they haven't done anything about him.
Well, Pelosi's not "too" bad - she's probably better than Hillary, all things considered - and you're right, she
does have a tough job.
Nah, the one thing that's gonna unite "everyone", is hatred of Bush. All the rest of that stuff, is like, you know, "the Dems are the party of ideas", kinda thing. They got too many ideas, and not enough discipline.
