That's a very absolute statement you just made, Truth.
The U.S. never takes responsibility for the bad things it does when it knows other people might be able to characterize it as evil. Such as this wonderful episode. Politicians are too busy convincing people they're just good, moral, down-to-earth people...
Our Congress is very good at condemning other nations for atrocities and overlooking our own. The World hasn't forgotten our brutality, and republicans see this as a good thing. That show of strength is what brought us 911.

America needs a day of reckoning to start this century on, where congress acknowledges to the world our wrongs, and asks forgiveness so we can move on with a clean slate putting morals and ethics with the world as a first priority. I don't think we need repriations, just an big apology.

Then America needs to make our Presidents accountable for their actions in the future, and offer them up to the world courts for their war crimes, just as we have demanded of other vicious criminal leaders.
