So, let's see, this looks like it's gonna be one of those "committee" things, so God knows what this thing's gonna look like when it finally emerges.
The House version looks quite different from the Senate version, at least "so far".
This is kind of a troublesome thing, ain't it? It's like, the closer you get to the real power centers of the US government, the more you hear these weasels saying "no lawsuits". You know, I mean, what I see there, is they're slowly raising the temperature under
yet another Constitutional Right, which is the Right to Redress. They've already done it with the HMO's, right? Dirty bastids - I mean, the mere stupidity of the concept that individuals in an organization whose
specific purpose is to save money by cutting costs, would "not" be forced to make some dangerous compromises that might somehow impact someone's treatment.... I'm sorry, but that's the WRONG solution. Much as I dislike frivolous lawsuits, banning lawsuits entirely would be the
wrong response to that particular problem.
