I have a story to share.
When I was down near Tulsa OK not too long ago (heart of the Bible Belt, right?), I happened to have the opportunity to attend a local church one morning.
So, you know, nothing realy extraordinary there, nice service 'n' all, good folks, contemporary Christian music - .... so, I'm kinda goin' out after the service, talkin'
to some folks, and I'm lookin' over to the right, and they've got all these
little kids (4, 5 years old, something like that - "younger than" 1st grade, probably), kinda doin' these calisthenics and stuff, and they're all chanting these religious
slogans while they're doin' it, and so I'm like, "hmmm... check this out".....
So I ask my bud, who's a local musician, and he's like, "Oh, that's the Army of Jesus".
And I'm like...... ???
So you know, I saunter over there to check out these kiddies, and what it is, they're
kinda being taught to "stand their ground" in terms of their "culture" and so on -
You know, they're being prepped to "defend" their dear Jesus and
everything he stands for....
So, I guess I'll just leave it there, without further comment. Let's just say, that was
an "unusual and memorable" thing, for someone from California. I've never seen
anything like that, anywhere else in these United States. You?
