A Political History of the Recent Past
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum so I suppose this question will sort of be my introduction as well.
I've never really been very into politics or keeping up on current events but recently I've decided it is important and in a way my civic duty to learn what is going on in the world and my country so that I can make an educated decision this November in the presidential election. I'm 19 and this will be my first opportunity to vote in such an election.
That said, I'm looking to learn as much as possible. I would love to find a website, read a book, or do anything that will give me a brief but comprehensive understanding of the relevant political past, including everything from say the 1900s and especially everything in the past 8 years. Iraq, Iran, Korea, 9/11, Afghanistan, I want to learn everything. Military issues but also everything else.
Does anyone have a suggestion of how best I can catch up on all of these things?
I really appreciate any help and hopefully after I learn a bit I can start contributing to this forum.
