Default My Energy Plan

Here's my plan for addressing our energy problem:

1) Drill for offshore oil close to the coasts of Florida

2) Build more refineries in Virginia Beach and Colorado Springs

3) Build more nuclear reactors, and deal with the waste problem by placing a Nuclear Waste Dump in Crawford, Texas

4) End all subsidies, special breaks, and giveaways to the highly profitable oil industry, and force them to get by on Free Enterprise.

5) Force the ailing auto industry to sell more cars by requiring them to make the more efficient cars that America wants!

What do you think?

The forcing of the auto industry won't work but they will develope more efficient cars if the market says it wants them

you don't live near or around crawford, do you? nuclear energy has the potential to permanently ruin our present living conditions.

why do we need more cars? more cars will only increase demand for oil, increase the amount of admissions in the atmosphere, and increase the number or office-chair jockeys who tour around our nation wasting resources, ruining our environment, and suffocating what remains of our national beauty.

And what would you like us to do? close down civilisation? go back to wandering around the jungle throwing spears and dying of plague?

there are multitude of ways, technologically, to live as a sustainable civilization. unless, of course, civilization, to you, means being able to drive up the street to the mail box when it dips below a comfortable 77 degrees.

the fact of the matter is, the number one contributor to pollution, the energy crisis, and the economic crisis is the post-industrial lifestyle of the citizens of modernized nations.

Yeah instead of abandoning our cars and electricity perhaps we can just make them better?

I enjoy your sense of humor. George I am sure won't let you put the dump in Crawford Tx. Maybe you can just bag it up and sneak it in a little at a time.
