ABC News' Political Radar blog -- McCain hasn't been to any Afghanistan-related hearings in past two years: Republicans and their presidential choice's campaign have been critical of Democratic contender Barack Obama because the Senate subcommittee he chairs has not had any oversight hearings about NATO's role in securing and rebuilding Afghanistan and because he has attended just one other hearing about Afghanistan. But, "it turns out that presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain has attended even fewer Afghanistan-related Senate hearings over the past two years than Obama's one. Which is a nice way of saying, McCain, R-Ariz., the top Republican on the Senate Armed Service Committee, has attended zero of his committee's six hearings on Afghanistan over the last two years. ... McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers, in a statement to ABC News, argued that McCain's years of previous foreign policy experience make up for his recent lack of attendance at hearings."

Obama is chairman of a sub committee on Afghanistan & he hasn't even held a meeting, not one. He's just now getting ready to even go to Afghanistan.

True McCain has missed all six hearings but he has been a Senator for 21 years. Obama on the other hand had been a Senator for all of 143 congressional days when he threw his hat in the ring for President. After 21 years I'm sure McCain can get by just fine reading the transcript. For a Senator with as little experience on capitol hill as Obama to miss 5 out of 6 hearings is ridiculous and show his arrogance when pretending to know what he's talking about.

As Senator Joseph Biden said of Obama during the primaries: "He's a 'Johnny Come-Lately" on Afghanistan and was late to the debate. Biden was correct.

In the Sept of '07 debate he said he didn't know if we'd have the troops out before the end of his first term, six months later, we'll be out in 16 months.

His website claimes he wants to save Social Security, but he voted against a bill that would stop congress form deficit borrowing against it,.
