USA IS the most violent nation. Of course there's more homicides here per year.

Criminals aren't afraid of getting caught because prison is just another place to make contacts and beef up while getting free room and board. It's just a part of their life, comes and goes, avoid it when they can, use it to their advantage when they couldn't.

If we had harsher, much harsher, punishment for law breakers there would be a drop in crime rates, guaranteed.

Example: There's 10,000 thieves in a single city (just for easy math) and let's say that the penalty for getting caught stealing was getting a finger cut off. In one month's time let's say 3,000 of them got caught, and had a finger cut off. All of their thieving friends see their buddies with one missing finger.

How many thefts are there the next month?

America is violent cause we don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about the criminals. They're just another form of profit for the government.
