first off how many hundreds of men, women, and children gave their lives fighting for the freedoms we have now in privitized volunteer militias....not government military, but militias. Formed from the grassroots of this country. Those who believed that freedom was worth dieing for, not fighting for... DIEING FOR! These men, women and children of OUR country did not care for what company they were employed with nor how much they made, their only concern was that our honor entegrity and freedoms endoured wiether or not they(those that fought) personaly did!

Secondly, after you seriously revisit the history of this country I ask you to understand and actually research this military. Because this question is a bit rediculous to me. (First hand knowledge here) Because when my FAMILY volunteered for the army in 1998 and my husband (than a "combat engineer") was tasked out on a REGULAR basis to patrol the streets of the base to pick up cigarette butts and other road side debri. Now on our bases we have private companies that pick up our road side trash and debri as well as other minial jobs that are non military related AT ALL that were previously filled by combat troops tasked out to do such bs instead of focusing on thier real task of training for WAR!

FORTUNATLY NOW they ARE focused SOLELY on thier designed jobs and not on the minial tasks of every day life as some are......

Whomever asked this question in the first place was obviously NOT well versed in the life of a military member, but rather a political pundint.

The United States military always has and always will be a military of volunteers! Those who dedicate their lives to the preservation of freedom and democracy of the United States Of America will always be willing...regardless, and always will there be job for the rest of you who are only willing to pick up our trash!
