Good response! Although I disagree with YOU, I applaud the fact that you were able come up with reasons for your dislike of Sen. Obama, instead of the snarls and grunts that are so common from the far right on this forum.

Thanks. Keep in mind though that not all non-Obama supporters are "far right" or for McCain for that matter. Ive got serious issues with him too.
It drives me nuts when I question an Obama position and the response is always "Oh yeah, well McCain isnt any better" So thanks for understanding my position.

I think it's a nice thing to have any Europeans say anything nice about an American at all these days.

Chancellor Merkel said she liked his speech. The American electorate will see this as a postive for Obama. It is campaigning in Germany to show what he can do on the global stage.

Um, ok...but your quote:

"he suggests that he can inspire others to act along with him."

doesnt do much along those lines for me. I can suggest that I can inspire others to do anything I want...there is no substance behind the clame...or very little if not none.

Sure, it's a "nice" thing.

But no one should be elected president simply because they will do a "nice" thing for us.

When looking for a person who should be president of the United States, you cannot vote for a candidate just because they might bring a "nice" thing to us, you must look at every issue for all candidates, analyze the importance, positions, and possible effects of those positions, and then determine the net benefit of each candidate.

I would probably even support Obama if he got rid of his populist voodoo economic policies and big government "for your own good" schemes. But then he wouldn't be a "progressive."

your negativity is only expressed in the context of your own faithlessness. are you unaware how to translate words into action?

I'm "negative" because I cant see the "how" part of Mr. Obama's plan? The actual execution rather than words? THAT makes me negative?

I dont want "faith" in a candidate, I want confidence, reliability, accountability, and a plan.
