I'm just not getting what the specific charge against the recruiters is. There doesn't seem to be one. Which makes me wonder why some supposedly intelligent folks would take a stand against them.
I'm just thinking that there's probably more to the story than we've heard.
Anyway, as the story currently stands, I agree that it sounds like whoever (exactly what does 'the city of Berkley' mean?) tried to ban the recruiters is out of line.
I'm somewhat against military recruitment in highschool, 'cause I remember how the recruiters that came to my school seemed to be taking advantage of the naivete and hormonal enthusiasm of teenage boys. Also, there was a lot of outright lying being done as to how much you get paid, what the life is like, that kind of thing (this is what military folks tell me anyway). But once someone is in college, they should be capable of making life-and-death decisions like whether or not to join the military.
