jp whines !! So, why is Republican Ted Stevens getting criminally prosecuted in a TRIAL already set to take place BEFORE the November election----while Majority Leader Harry Reid got to simply "re-state those forms" and claim it was all due to a "clerical error??? No investigation for Reid; no censure; no trial; no nothing. This article from Oct 2006 about Harry Reid, explaining what Reid was allowed to do: "

Did it ever occur to you that maybe what Reid did is either not criminal and/or there is no evidence to "get him" while it appears that your boy Stevens has been caught with his moral pants down.

You seem to be at a lost when one of your Repub boys ges caught and you immediately try to play the "but Mom the Democrats id it why can't me and my friends to that too".

You should realize by this stage in your life that:

someone elses stupidtism does not justify yours
just because someone else killed a person that does not justify you to follow suit
if your friends jump off od the bridge that does not mean that you should also

Try to pay attention to the thread, f100. I didn't make the facts up. It was just two years ago that Harry Reid had this ethics problem for failure to disclose financial matters ($1.1 million) and was allowed to restate his previously filed forms. What Ted Stevens did is to leave financial items off his disclosure form too. Frankly, I think BOTH should have been investigated and at least censured by the Senate. I think they were BOTH trying to pull a fast one. But obviously YOU think it should be only Stevens examined; but not Reid. So it is YOU who is inconsistent in your views on this issue; not me. If that were not so, you would be agreeing with me that the two similar ethics problems was where one got special treatment.

i hope the are investigating reid, because there sure seems to be enough reason to do so
and if they find anything, indict him and put his butt on trial, just as they are now doing to stevens
but you miss one major issue. reid decided to amend his disclosure statement before being indicted. why didn't stevens do the same?
