So, there are reports the government might disband... Duh must ignore.
There are reports that the Al-Sadr might not extend the cease fire after the original 6-month end date that is in a few weeks.

There has been no progress by the Iraqi government in all of the benchmarks, objectives and basic duties that they should be working on.
Duh must ignore.
Violence is better, but credit certainly needs to go to Sunni leaders and Shia leaders as well as the surge... Dug must ignore everything but credit it all the the military...
There is no timetable for success in Iraq... Duh must ignore. Duh must ignore.
There are more terrorists in Iraq than when we got there.. Duh must ignore.
Then if you ignore all these FACTS, then sure, then you can believe whatever you want and call Iraq a resounding success.
The truth is that the military has been put into an untenable situation. Our military is the greatest on earth. But acting as babysitter to the Iraqi government and occupying a nation against the will of it's people is not something that any military is going to do well. Look at the palistinian territories, they have been fighting their occupation for decades. And as long as we occupy Iraq, we face the same fate... fighting a guerella war against roadside bombs and snipers.
The solution, the "new way forward" is to actually have a new way forward, rather than just keep doing the same thing, sacraficing our soldiers lives and our money to "buy time" for Iraq to get their (*)(*)(*)(*) together. The new way forward is to get Iraqis to fight for themselves. Unless that country is willing to stand up for itself, there can never be success there.
