The idea of apologizing for something you didn't do has always struck me as insane, but this thread has convinced me I have been wrong.
Therefore, I issue the following apologies.
Ahem!
I am of english, irish, scots, italian and german descent.
- Being of english descent I apologize to myself, and all other irish people for the Great Irish Famine. I accept my apology.
- I also apologize to myself, and all scotts, for stealing the Stone of Scone. I thank myself for my apology.
- Being of italian descent, I apologize to ethiopia for invading their country. I also apologize to somalia for setting up a colony there.
- Being of German descent, I apologize to my english self for WWII, but also remind my english self that it declared war on me first.
- Since there is a small chance I'm related to the ancient romans, I apologize to the then known world for conquering it, and the rest of my selves accept it.
I also recommend that all australians apologize to england, because their ancestors got there by breaking the law.
Finally, I recommend that all who subscribe to the lunatic notion of apologizing for what you haven't done shove that idiocy where the sun don't shine.
