So you would risk turning the whole thing into a war, a true testament to the Russian character I would say.
This can be worked out peacefully. A compromise can be reached.
However, if Russia wants to challenge the US and NATO (the combination that brought the strongest entity Russia has ever produced to it's knees) then go on Putin, embarrass yourself and countrymen further.

If we are speaking in pure objective terms, surely Putin should wait a while before trying to challenge American hegemony, he is still trying to recover the military and economy. I say recovering because the USSR was the 2nd largest economy in the world, which made us Yanks very anxious.
