The ability to breathe does not make a human being. People on respirators do have rights. Even if someone's bodily functions will no longer return to them, they have rights. A fetus's bodily functions are only improving. Just as the nurse at the controls of life support cannot violate the patient's rights, a mother should not be able to violate her offspring's rights.
