On the contrary, the US and NATO have plans to sink cash into the Kosovo army - training and supplies (but we learned after the Taliban, didn't we). And, Kosovo has been saving millions for months for this celebration, why didn't they save it for use in government? - So their people could celebrate and (not and/or) western media could have a hay day.
"We, the leaders of our people, democratically elected, through this declaration proclaim Kosovo an independent and sovereign state," said the text read out in parliament by Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.

- A democratically elected general my @$$
Notice the parliament does not say 'we the people'; BUT............'we, the leaders of our people'; we are so naive.
And there is a picture on that web site of Serbian police quelling the US embassy episode.
Kostunica sums it quite nicely - the US is "ready to violate the international order for its own military interests".
And so much for our economic involvement - we will have donated half a billion dollars to Kosovo next year this time, and billions more in the future for arming her wonderful army of Mujihadeen supporters. (I seem to think these billions could be of better use in our own society)
