Rape and mollestation are generally violent... or at least coercive.
And many rapists and mollesters become murderers in order to keep their crimes secret.
A lot of violent crimes happen similarly, but it's more to do with the lengths one will go to for control than just the use of violence.

An abusive spouse or a serial rapist is more likely to become a murderer than say a punk that just enjoys beating people up but shows no signs of going further.
