The truth is that the majority of Muslims see the passage of killing all infedells as figuritive, it is a small minority that believes it is literal. Those who trulely belive this are the extreamists, which the Muslim leaders have disowned. If all Muslims belive the passage is literal, then why do the leaders of the Muslim community keep polite terms with the Vatican? I myself do not claim to be an expert on religion, but it is this lack of general knowelge that leads to the conflict we see today
