Monarchy is costly and useless. Australia should become a Republic, no doubt in my mind. At least you have a public debate on the question in Australia. For some reason canadians seem to love being governed by a foreigner since the matter was never seriously talked at the federal level and in english-speaking provinces. Quebec, on the other hand, is very anti-monarchist. No doubt we will get rid of it someday, with or without Canada.
