1. we elect the mujtahids, they elect the supreme leader. unlike what you think, the country doesn't run on supreme leader's ideas. it more runs on the government elected by people. the supreme leader HAS the right to interfere everything, but he doesn't do it normally. it happened once or twice during my whole lifetime. I believe we have democracy here, at least, unofficially. our people are so active in politics, they can't stand a dictator or totalitarian government.
