The president, while he may have the final say in military matters, is a politician first and depends on his joint chiefs of staff to do the tactical analysis. Do you really think Abraham Lincoln or any non-general president had any clue on such issues. Please be realistic.

McCain got shot down by a SAM and thousands of pilots were. They were hard to avoid and McCain flew into a hornets nest of them. He was following orders. Thats bravery. He also commanded the largest fighter squadron after he was released. My father was shot
up in WW2 by the Nips and after he was healed he went back into combat. That did not make him a bad soldier either. You people keep trying to justify why Obama should be our President. I just heard on the radio that there is a bombshell that is fixing to expose Obama that will derail him and the major news sources, ABC, NBC and CbS who have been giving him a pass are fixing to hammer him. Obama is fixing to have to answer some tough questions regarding Lybian leader Moammar Qaddaffi. Stay tuned!!
Read this about McCain how he was shot down and what he went through and what his accomplishments after the war. Compare this to Obama.
