Unless a federal amendment says the second amendment is repealed [lets hope for Christ's sake its not] the states/federal government have to allow you to obtain a gun. You see, this is why the constitution isn't a work of poetry- it wasn't meant to be interpreted, the ideals in it are fairly timeless and only recquire minor common sense edits as time goes on.
