I barely have the strength to chamber a round. I have to hold it close to me to get leverage - not a good thing.
I am a lady, btw.

That is a Colt 1911, with double stacked mag. She loves it. A lot of women that I have ran into have problems working the action on larger automatics. You may try out a compact or subcompact in the same caliber. Or you can take your piece to a gunsmith and have them lower the tension on the slide. If this does not work, then you can always go with a wheel gun (or you can work your forearms and get stronger). I started a weapons thread earlier, and in the morning I will compile a few different weapons that were designed with females in mind. Most ranges around the US have range guns that you can rent. Do not feel bad for asking questions. They are there to help, and most gun shop owners will take the time to make sure you are outfitted with a weapon you can handle.

Oh and her nails in that pic were fake (don't tell her I told you).

Ted, I like a woman that can handle her firearms. But, my wife did have a problem handling that S&W Model 500. But then again, so did I.

1. Sport of choice for Marines: bowling.
2. Sport of choice for Sailors: football.
3. Sport of choice for Soldiers: baseball.
4. Sport of choice for Coast Guardsmen: tennis.
5. Sport of choice for Airmen: golf.
Notice how the farther down the list you go, the smaller their balls get.
