The theory with universal healthcare is that it will focus on prevention, which will reduce the cost of treatment. In the end it may reduce the costs of everyone's healthcare,but instead of paying for the healthcare it will come in taxes, but I am unsure if it will. But most sources that i have seen have said that it will reduce the overall cost.

This article has other articles that have studies that predict that the healthcare cost would fall if universal healthcare is used.

No one is really entitled to such things but if it will reduce the overall cost, which it might, than there is no real reason against it.
