what would they find out about you and your personal life? the reason I ask is b/c people feel its okay to attack Palin, Obama, McCain, and Biden while they are all humans. I think I have and am willing to admit that I've attacked Obama unfairly in the heat of the moment.

I'm only 22 so I have less backage plus I've never held office but I did get arrested once, even though I was able to get the charges dropt, the info is probably out there.

They would find out that I was a VERY, VERY wild girl in college who drank excessively, drove while intoxicated, and DID in fact inhale. Often. And, broke other laws, as well. I think there are still pictures out there that could be very incriminating.

They'd find out that I once punched my ex-husband in the face when he had me cornered against a wall (I'm SURE he'd be happy to line up and do interviews on the topic: "My ex-wife is a violent bicthe.")

They'd find out that I've been shot at more than once, and that I am a terrible, aggressive driver. They'd also find out that I got knocked up (and subsequently married) when I was 27. They'd learn that I've been divorced twice, and was once a member of the LDS Church.

p.s. Let this be a lesson to you, Lavell. Keep your life clean and above reproach so you can someday run for Prezzie.

Well, this is exactly the reason a lot of good people....good qualified people.....wouldn't consider running. It's too bad. What they can't find out about you, they'll just make up. I'm surprised we can EVER get anybody worth a darn. In fact, many of the people in the Senate and Congress are NOT the best that is out there. My husband, for instance, ran 40 manufacturing plants and all that goes along with it. He knows a lot about budgets and manufacturing and management. He's professional and fair. He'd be GREAT in politics as someone who would get things done. But he would NEVER run for anything, because he hates the political BS involved. He's typical of a lot of people, I think.

I think the reason that Palin has come under attack for two main reasons:

1. She is new and nobody knows here story.
2. The media is ticket off that McCain screwed them over by the way they made the media look last Friday.

I just want people to realize that everyone has baggage.
Yes, everyone does have some baggage. But Sarah Palin has been treated unfairly. Judge her on the issues.....experience, lack of it, issues----but leave the personal stuff out of it.

You're right, personal and private issues have no place in politics. But then again, if the Republicans couldn't complain about personal issues like sexual orientation, abortion or religious preference then they wouldn't have much of a party policy to stand on.

I suppose it would be the fact that I almost flunked out of high school. But, I'm in a PhD right now, so, I think I made up for it . Otherwise... nothing.
