Report: Palin sent e-mails complaining of trooper

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gov. Sarah Palin sent e-mails to the state's top police official, criticizing Alaska State Troopers for their investigation of an officer who went through a bitter divorce with her sister, a newspaper reported Wednesday.

Former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan showed copies of the e-mails to The Washington Post. He didn't provide copies to the newspaper, but said he has turned copies over to an investigator probing the firing for the Legislature.

Monegan has said he felt pressured by Palin family members and her administration to fire Trooper Mike Wooten, whom they say threatened to kill Palin's father, among other accusations, all taking place before she became governor. Monegan was fired by Palin in July.

Why is Obama stocking his administration with folks who are long time Clinton political hacks or who failed in the private sector? Change is looking a lot like the same.

Some people seem to have a hard time understanding that "reformers" fire a lot of people all the time and cause a lot of problems. It becomes hard to tell the difference between a legit firing and one driven by power hunger.

Judging by Palin's WWE match on Wednesday night (after Giuliani's demonstration of how to destroy an already debilitated reputation), it's clear to me that she has some power and control issues. I just can't really tell if they are due to a genuine personality defect that causes here to "reform" everything around her, or if it's just something that would soften naturally after more years of experience in government.
